I have such mixed feelings about 2020. Undoubtedly the hardest year of my life (and for the world) but equally the most wonderful year for me personally when I reflect. I’m choosing to focus and celebrate the good today. I would love to encourage anyone reading this to comment their highlights (big or small – we have to take pride in the smallest of victories this year) so we can focus on the positives together. I love hearing about other people’s achievements! I’m going to try and keep this short and just highlight the stand outs and not go into too much detail as I am aware that others reading this may not have had the best year.

With all of the scary things going on in the world, I have to say that I was feeling a little bit apprehensive about Christmas this year. It is my favourite time of year and I was really struggling to get into the Christmas spirit. Christmas day for me is all about family, it’s the one day of the year I get to see all of my family on one day and it’s so, so special to me. With the restrictions and Wales going into a full lockdown just days before the 25th, everything was feeling really uncertain and not magical at all.

Right, I’m not gonna lie the past 8 weeks have been an absolute whirlwind and I haven’t had time to document our renovation journey on the blog up to now. I managed the first week, but after that it was all systems go to get things done in time for Christmas. I will go back now I have a bit more time and write some more renovation updates to look back on though! For now, I am thrilled to be able to say that we are officially moved in to our first home and it was just in time for Christmas!

Hello again! We can’t believe it has been exactly one week since we picked up the keys to our first house. The love and support has been so overwhelming from everyone and if I’m honest, it still hasn’t hit us that the house we are currently working so hard to transform, will be our home very soon. In my last post, I chatted about us getting the house and our initial feelings etc but today I thought I would share a one week renovation update.

I can’t believe I am finally getting to write this after what feels like the longest time sitting on the biggest secret! Alex and I bought a house and today we finally got the keys and completed the sale! I cannot believe that I am 22 years old and a homeowner – absolute madness! I feel so overwhelmed, grateful and emotional about this. I am beyond blessed to be my age and have a home to share with my favourite person in the whole world.

If you know me, you’ll know that I never go anywhere without my diary/planner. This because I am constantly juggling so many balls that without it I would be lost. I know that lots of people opt for utilising the calendar on your phone for to keep track of your life, but for me I have to be able to see my month laid out in front of me. My motto is ‘if it’s not in the diary, then I’m not going’ and I have tried many different styles of diary over the year with nothing really meeting all the needs I have for one. I then came across bullet journaling and thought why not give it a try.

It’s no secret that theatre and amateur dramatics have played a huge role in my life and are one of my biggest passions. I spent every year from age 8 to age 18 in a local theatre society and since moving back to Abergavenny after uni, it has been something I have wanted to get back involved with. Last year as I eased into my life as a graduate, I decided to just participate in Pantomime whilst I found my bearings but missed the experience of putting on musicals greatly. That is why when the opportunity arose to join the AAODS committee I jumped at the chance to be a part of this society again.

I have been so quiet on this blog lately – I feel like lockdown sucked away my motivation for most things and writing blogs would mean I would have to address the fact that our trip to Florida was cancelled and lots of other things have been going wrong. However, I spent the weekend with some of my closest friends and the absence of the blog was noted so what better way to kick start regular blogging than with documenting this weekend!

Hello again. I hope lockdown is treating you all well – I am slowly getting over my lockdown blues and am determined to contribute to this blog more regularly again so, despite life being a bit shit, I’m not missing an important part of my life on here. So, yesterday I received my final grade for my first year of the MSc in Clinical Psychology I am completing at the University of South Wales. In my January recap blog, I shared my progress from the first semester and it feels like I have been waiting forever to finally know how I did in semester 2 and overall for my first year.
