Hello! If you’re reading this post then it must mean that December is finally upon us and the Christmas festivities can get into full swing! If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that I absolutely ADORE Christmas and it is by far my favourite time of year. You will also know that I participated in blogmas 2018 and successfully managed to post for all 25 days. I thought I would take on the challenge again this year.
Now I can already hear those close to me shouting at the screen telling me I really don’t have the time to be doing this, and to that I say you are absolutely right! With working almost full time hours and completing a masters degree, research assistant placement and rehearsing for a panto, spare time is sparse. However, because I am so busy I haven’t got much time to go do Christmassy things and if I’m honest I have never felt less festive in my life – so I am hoping that doing blogmas will help get me into the festive spirit and build the excitement leading up to the big day.
To quickly recap, blogmas is an event where members of the blogging community post content everyday in December until Christmas Day. I’ve always loved reading other people’s posts (and videos on vlogmas) so decided to give it a go for the first time last year.
My life looks very different than it did this time last year. When I was living my best student life, I was able to commit to so many fun, festive activities and documenting them was a piece of cake. This year I will be doing less activities but am hoping to create content that is equally as interesting and special to look back on in years to come. Christmas last year was also one of the last good times I had at university before the suspension and behaviour of some evil people literally ruined everything, so I am determined to get back to my happy, Christmassy bubble.
As you read this, I will have just gotten home from a weekend with my best pals to see me into December so I am looking forward to sharing what we got up to. I have also been crowned ‘Miss Christmas’ in work and have been carrying out my festive responsibilities by spreading Christmas cheer throughout the office.
There’s no promises that I will fulfil the full 25 days but I am doing to give it a good go. I’m also not going to restrict myself to purely posting only Christmas related content – it’ll be heavy on the Christmas but I also have some less Christmassy posts planned! This year is going to be more ‘go with the flow’ and I’m excited to see where this goes.
If you have any blogmas posts suggestions that you’d like to see then please leave them in the comments.
