Hello and happy February everyone! January was a pretty full on month for me where lots of great things happened – I turned 22, saw the Jonas Brothers, got a promotion amongst other things. I think I’ll do a January recap soon that covers everything in detail. However, the highlight of the month has to be my Christmas present from Alex which was a trip to London to see Hamilton! So as I am writing this it has almost been one whole week since our first performance of The Wedding Singer and I honestly have no idea where the time has gone. I don’t think I’ve quite processed that the show or my time in Loco has come to an end (and I’m going to write a separate post bidding Loco farewell when I am emotionally stable enough) but here is a look back at my last show with my beloved Loco Show Co. Prepare for lots of pics.

Well if you asked me 12 months ago if I would be writing this post I would have said you were mad, but here we are again! I don’t think I’ve actually shared this with you all yet but I am back doing my old role as musical director again for my musical theatre society as we perform ‘The Wedding Singer’ in May! This year has been extremely taxing at times, sometimes I wonder if I have taken on too much and the answer is probably yes. Balancing three jobs, a degree, a committee position alongside everything else has almost killed me off but I made it and I’m looking forward to what I have in store over the next few months. Continue reading “EXAM FREE: WHAT NOW?”
Last Friday was Alex’s 23rd Birthday and as his present I decided to take him to see Shrek: The Musical at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham. We saw the evening performance that began at 7pm which was a full house. We have wanted to see this show ever since it started as Shrek is one of our favourite animated films. As we are so busy during term time, I also thought it would be nice to get away for the evening and watch some theatre together. Here’s what we thought of the show… Continue reading “SHREK THE MUSICAL: REVIEW”
This weekend was spent casting my society’s production of Grease! As musical director it is my role, alongside my lovely production team, to watch all our members audition and decide how we want to cast each role. To say it was a difficult decision would be an understatement! Continue reading “CASTING A MUSICAL”
